Here at Toledo Turners Gymnastics we offer, preschool gymnastics, girls and boys recreational and competitive gymnastics, and cheer tumbling. Below are descriptions of each class. Please check the schedule page for our current days and times. Daytime hours are available in the summer.
Preschool Girls (3-4 yr old)
A 50 minute class that introduces young children to the sport of gymnastics. Gymnasts must be fully potty trained and semi-able to pay attention in class.
The gymnasts are introduced to the 4 women's events - vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise.
Girls 1 Gymnastics (5-6 yr old)
A 1 hour class focusing on building and strengthening motor skills, spacial awareness, and social interaction. The gymnasts will be introduced to the four different women's events - vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise. The class will teach gymnasts the basic skills and strength on each event needed to move to the Girls 2 class.
Girls 1 Gymnastics (7-10 yr old)
A 1 hour class used as introduction to gymnastics for girls ages 7-10. The goal of the class is to get the gymnasts introduced and comfortable with the four different events (vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise) and will also teach them the basic skills and strength on each event needed to move to the Girls 2 class.
Girls 2 Gymnastics Prerequisite: must complete Girls 1
A 1 1/4 hour class focusing on intermediate level skills on each of the four women's events (vault, beam, bars, floor). The class will continue to build strength and flexibility along with developing the necessary skills to move to the Girls 3 class.
Girls 3 Gymnastics Prerequisite: must complete Girls 2
A 1 1/2 hour class focusing on advanced level skills of each of the four women's events. The class continues to build strength and flexibility and also incorporates conditioning into practices. Develops the necessary skills to move to Pre-Team.
Pre-Team Girls Prerequisite: must complete Girls 3
A 2 hour class that focuses on the skills needed to prepare gymnasts for our competitive girls team.
Girls and Boys Competitive Teams
Toledo Turners Gymnastics is proud to offer instruction at the USAG competitive levels. We offer competitive teams for Levels 3 and up for girls and Levels 4 and up for boys. Times and fees vary.
Jr. Tumbling (ages 7-10)
A 1 hour class focused on teaching the basics, fundamentals, and skills of tumbling.
Beginner Boys (ages 4.5 to 6)
A 1 hour class that introduces young boys to the sport of gymnastics. Gymnasts are introduced to the six men's events (floor, pommel horse, still rings, vault, parallel bars, high bar).
Intermediate Boys (ages 7 and up)
A 1 1/2 hour class focusing on intermediate level skills on each of the six men's events (floor, pommel horse, still rings, vault, parallel bars, high bar). The class continues to build strength and flexibility and also incorporates conditioning into practices. Develops the necessary skills to move to Advanced Boys.
PreBoys
A 1 1/2 hour class that meets twice per week. The class focuses on advanced level skills on each of the six men's events (floor, pommel horse, still rings, vault, parallel bars, high bar). The class continues to build strength and flexibility and also incorporates conditioning into practices. Develops the necessary skills to move to the boys competitive team.
